Thank you to the boy that is currently in my life. The one who waited out all the rest and by fate was lead to me. Others who came before you now seem like a distant memory and all the lessons I learned from them make everything we have all the easier.

Thank you for being a friend. For being someone for years that was there for me no matter what. Always consoling me with advice and endless laughs. Even when I was dating someone else you were there as a friend, a very good and loyal friend. When I was having a bad day you were the first to make sure I was okay and even in those days were still putting me before yourself. We may have started out as co-workers but it soon became so much more, it became epic. I remember those late night closings talking for hours without missing a beat, never once has out conversation ever lacked. At work, we never were supposed to be in the same area, but you always happened to find your way over to my department to tell me a story or just do a silly dance move then walk away.

Thank you for being patient. When we met I was in a relationship and when that fizzled out I went into another. But you waited. You knew you wanted to date me and just knew that timing was key. You knew it would be worth the wait. Never once did you interfere in my current relationship, or try to lure me away you were just patient. Still, that good friend who would be there for me no matter what. On days where we would be at work or with friends and I would be crying because of an ex you would do everything in your power to make me laugh. Always trying to make me smile.

Thank you for reminding me of my worth. For not only making me feel important but be reminded that I'm beautiful. Sometimes after dating your confidence gets hindered by others, but you brought that up to where it needed to be. And I would like to think I was able to do the same for you. We have always been that support system for each other not just when it comes to vanity, but also in life. If classes were rough, or work or even family, we were able to make each other feel like it was just one bad day and that the next would be better. That positivity meant everything.

Thank you for accepting my flaws, and never trying to change them. It was very clear from the moment we meant that I was very sassy and head strong and that you were stubborn as hell. But we worked with it. You thought my sassiness was funny and I liked to get you out of your comfort zone with your stubbornness. Clearly we both have more flaws but it was never a problem. We NEVER judged one another, and just always knew when to back off. Sometimes even being that calming factor for one another when we were teetering on that edge of severe anger. In a sense we have always been like one another crutch there for support and never encouraging change. It's more like we bring out the best in one another. Accepting the flaws because there's so many other great things to focus on. You were the first person to never try to change me, and I respected you in that same way.

And lastly thank you for being you. For being the person that I knew would be important to me from the moment I met them. I didn't know what sense that importance would be in, but I knew you would be involved in my life in some way. It was extremely clear to me and everyone around us that we were special, even when we didn't want to see it ourselves. Sometimes when you meet people you just know that they are good, and that is you. You're such a good and honest person that everyone in your life is lucky to have you.

Thank you for being a friend, for being patient, for reminding me of me, for accepting my flaws, for just being you and everything in between. This letter could never fully explain all the greatness you bring to my life, but it sure does start to.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
