A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend

Just a little thank you for being amazing and also a pain in the butt.

A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend

To My Very Best Friend and Love of My Life (aka My Boyfriend),

I just wanted to take a little time to thank you for all the time you have spent on me. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for everything you have done for me, even if it does not seem like that big of a deal. Everything you do means so much to me, from just keeping me company when I've had a long day of classes to offering to help cook dinner. There is a lot more that I have to thank you for, too.

Thank you for putting up with my indecisiveness and adding onto it with your own. Thank you for giving me a good laugh whenever you freak out over a spot on your shoes, don't understand what's going on, and when you kiss my neck. Thank you for listening to me even when you really don't care about anything I have to say but you just know that I need someone to talk to. Thank you for finding humor in my mistakes and make me realize that I'm only human. Thank you for bringing me back down to reality when I start freaking out over every little thing, especially lately with my thesis and endless papers. Thank you for making me feel comfortable enough to be 100% myself with you without any fear of being judged. Thank you for showing me that I'm never alone in anything that I do. Thank you for assuring me that you'll always and forever be there to catch me when I fall and to lead me when I have no idea which way to go. Thank you for being my rock when everything around me is crashing down. Thank you for making me feel like the most beautiful woman, even when I haven't showered in over a day, don't have any makeup on, and I'm stuffing my face with ice cream. Thank you for sticking with me when all I seem to do is push you away. Thank you for being honest with me and telling me when I'm being ridiculous. Thank you for paying attention to my tiny quirks that maybe I don't even notice. Thank you for teaching me something new every day, even if it's something about a Jeep or something that I probably could have gone my entire life without knowing. Thank you for the random gifts, even if you gave them to me just because someone else didn't want it, like the poinsettias your mom got your grandma that she ended up not wanting. Thank you for adding extra stress by thrashing your Jeep through the mud, almost slamming into a tree multiple times, and scrapping on rocks. Thank you for reminding me to keep my seat belt on until the car is fully stopped by slamming on the brakes and having me almost bash my head on the windshield. Thank you for trying to be a good pillow even if you are nothing but skin and bones. Thank you for always helping me pick out an outfit by deciding on a pair of shoes first. Thank you for being there when all I need is a hand to hold. Thank you for loving my family as much as I love yours. Thank you for putting the time and effort into getting to know and spending time with my entire family. Thank you for showing everyone we come in contact with that love still exists. Thank you for making me feel proud by being able to have a genuine conversation with a complete stranger at a tiny restaurant. Thank you for going out of your way to make me happy, even if it comes with some moans and groans from your mouth. Thank you for giving me hundreds, thousands, millions of reasons to love you every single day. Thank you for being you and for being my boyfriend.

Thank you for being everything I knew I wanted and everything I didn't know I wanted. I can't wait to see what all we will accomplish together as best friends, teammates, and lovers.

I love you forever and always,

Your Girlfriend

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
