A Thank You Letter To My Boy Best Friend

To My Boy Best Friend,

At this point, you probably know you are one of the most important people in my life. Yes, I have a lot of other friends, but none are quite like you. I could never possibly put into words all of the things I want to say to you because the list is endless. I could write a thousand pages worth of all the things I want to thank you for, but here are just a few.

Thank you for always making me laugh. I know that when I’m in a mood, having a bad day, or just need to smile, I can always count on you. You know exactly what it takes to make me laugh, and typically within ten minutes of being together, we’re both laughing so hard we’re crying. No one else makes me laugh harder than you do, and I am thankful that you are able to always cheer me up, no matter the situation.

Thank you for always telling me how it is. No matter the situation, you will always give me your honest opinion. Whether it’s trying on clothes, doing my hair and makeup, or just talking to you in general, I can always count on you to tell me exactly how you feel. You never hold back, and even though sometimes this upsets me a little, at the end of the day I am grateful for it.

Thank you for always being my shoulder to cry on. Out of all my friends, you are my go to when something is wrong. I know that I could easily go to anyone, but you are always my first choice. You will sit and listen to me for hours, and you always know exactly what I need to feel better. No one else has the ability to change my mood just by talking to me, and I am thankful that I know I can always come to you when I need to.

Thank you for letting me tell creepy boys you’re my boyfriend. Every once in a while, a boy that I don’t want to talk to starts talking to me. When this is the case, I know I can tell him that you’re my boyfriend so he’ll leave me alone. I am forever thankful how many times you have gotten me out of an awkward situation I didn’t want to be in.

Finally, thank you for being my best friend. For the few years we have been friends now, you have become more than just a best friend. Simply put, you are my platonic soulmate. There is no one else I would ever want to walk through life with, and I am beyond glad I was given you. You are the best person I could ever ask for as my best friend. So, thank you for the years of friendship, and here’s to many many more.

With love,

Your Girl Best Friend

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
