We have been together for quite some time now; 13 years to be exact. In those 13 years, you have given me more than I could ever ask for out of a bible camp. With each year you have allowed me to grow closer to God, my fellow campers and myself. You have taught me what is truly important, and that some things are not. You have shown me that above all else I should love God and love others, and I would not be the person that I am today without you.
As our journey together comes to an end, and I approach my final year as a camper, I will not allow myself to be sad. In the midst of all the lasts, I will not forget to be grateful for the time that I have been given. That is not to say it will not be difficult to say goodbye, because it will probably be one of the hardest ones I will have to say. But this is not a goodbye letter, it is one of thanks.
So thank you. Thank you for the laughs, the tears and the countless memories. Thank you for being the place I can come to and know that I am safe. Thank you for the peacefulness, comfort, and happiness that you have brought to my life. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet people that are now and will always be a part of my life. And lastly, just thank you for being there.
Although this is my last year as a camper, this is not the last we will be seeing of each other. I anticipate the bright future this camp has, and I cannot wait to see it change the lives of others like it has mine. We serve an almighty Lord, and I am eternally grateful for His blessings, this camp being one of the greatest. Please don't forget me Camp Ney-A-Ti, because I promise I'm not forgetting you.
"Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater command than these."
Mark 12:28-31
