A Thank-You Letter To The Bubble Believer Of Texas State
Wikipedia

Texas State University is home to many types of students. With that being said, it isn't hard to fit in. From the Greeks to the marching band, there are many different organizations and cliques to become a part of. It isn't difficult to find your own niche at the university, and many like to shine together rather than alone. That is unless you're Joseph Losoya, AKA the Bubble Believer of Texas State. Losoya got this nickname after deciding to try to cheer up the student body by blowing bubbles in the quad, and shouting encouraging messages to students on their way to class. Often you can find him with his piñata named Walter singing songs and giving encouragement to his peers. Because of this, he's gathered quite the following and has even started his own organization called the Bubble Believers.

There isn't a student at Texas State who doesn't know about the famed bubble blower and many credit Losoya for giving them that extra push that they needed on a dreary Monday morning. Because of this, I think that we should offer our thanks to the man who spends time trying to put smiles on our faces. If anything, I know I will.

So thank you, Mr. Losoya. Thank you for always being in the quad or at the steps of the library to offer us inspiration before a big test or long day of class. Thank you for letting us blow bubbles with you whenever we feel stressed. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to stand outside and compliment people as they walk by. Your schedule must be busy and yet, you find the time to bring joy to the rest of us. I'm not sure if you get a lot of thank you's for what you do, but I know that you succeed in bringing joy to the student body. It might not seem like much, but your words often bring happiness to struggling students. You deserve the fame that you've acquired. Not many people can say that the fame they've earned in college was achieved for good reasons, but you can. You have single-handledly started a movement to bring joy to the university, and many really appreciate it. It's no wonder you're such a popular figure.

You've brought pride to your university, and you deserve your title as the Bubble Believer. You've believed in all of us, and we, in turn, believe in you. Don't be surprised if the Bubble Believers get quite a few new member in the upcoming year. Many have begun to follow your lead, and thanks to you there will be lots of people working to encourage their fellow students.

From one student to another, thanks for all that you do. Keep on believin'.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
