Thanks, Mom

Hi Mom,

Thank you, Mom, for all the laughs we've shared .Remember that time we found old home movies and watched them Christmas morning? Your catchphrases always especially crack me up.

Thank you, Mom, for instilling good habits on us. I'll never be as organized as you, but you better believe I hear your voice in my head while I'm folding or not using my G-Cal.

Thank you, Mom, for always answering my calls... even if it's the second of the day...or the third...

Thank you, Mom, for teaching me the importance of family. From our family, to spending time with our extended family, to telling me to look for family men in relationships. You've set a good base for your grandchildren!

Thank you, Mom, for encouraging me while also keeping me realistic. You told me to study hard, but not to spread myself too thin. I listened, and I might even follow your advice to lessen my credit hours (but I'm not as wise as you so we'll see).

Thank you, Mom, for teaching me how to fight. This sounds jarring at first, but we've had conflicts that, while they weren't fun, taught me how to navigate conflict in a calm, respectful manner.

Thank you, Mom, for forgiving me when the aforementioned conflicts weren't so easy.

Thank you, Mom, for every hug. Whether one of us needed it or just because, each is special.

Thank you, Mom, for taking so many pictures. We used to complain at all the posing, but it's so great to look back and see good memories.

Thank you, Mom, for being an advocate for me as a child and teaching me how to advocate for myself.

Thank you, Mom, for being you. I have learned so much from your resilience, work ethic and your wonderful laugh. I love hearing stories about you from before we were around and I love seeing all you still accomplish.

Thank you, Mom, for loving me and teaching me how to love through your profound selflessness.

Thank you, Mom, for reading to me everyday. You lit a love for literature that lead me here to write this article.

Thank you, Mom, for every great memory, lesson and sacrifice.

Love you,

Your loving, imperfect grateful chip off the old block.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
