A Thank You Letter To My Father On Father's Day
Peyton Marie Gosdin

With so many things I could thank you for, here is a list of only some of the things you do that I am so appreciative for. A father's love is so important. A bond between a father and daughter are unlike any other. You’re a pretty special dude. So thank you for:

1. Supporting us in all you do.

Thank you for putting a roof over our heads. Thank you for showing me what a hard worker looks like, so that we may enjoy the finer things in life. Thank you for sacrificing your time away from us if necessary to make sure we are content. You are our family's foundation and roof.

2. Trusting me.

It is so nice to feel completely trusted. When your constant "where are you at all times?" gets a little too much, hearing you tell me "I trust you," is all it takes for me to know you mean it and you ask because you care (and because mom is probably making you). Thank you for making me feel like I am doing something right, by knowing you are proud and that you trust me.

3. Reading us the Bible every night growing up.

Although it may not seem like much, thank you, along with mom, for instilling christ in our lives and taking the time out of every night to teach us the bible. That bonding time was so nice and has given me some of my fondest memories. Thank you for always wanting us to go to church no matter what time you got in the night before or the morning of. Thank you for every night whispering in my ear before bed: "Daddy loves you, Jesus loves you, sweet dreams baby girl."

4. Showing me what a father and husband should be like.

A father and husband should be caring, god fearing and a hard worker. They should be the head of the house, the providers. They should be strong and their kids should feel the type of security that I have felt growing up with you as my father. Whether it is knowing you would never leave or just plain feeling as though because you were you nothing could go wrong because you ALWAYS know what you are doing.

5. For letting me be a Daddy's girl.

Whether it's sports, politics or food we are the same. Thank you for making memories with me and letting me tag along doing whatever you were doing. Thank you for teaching me how to be strong and the reality of this world. Thank you for my conservative insight and my singing ability. Thank you for watching Saturday morning cartoons with me and frying me duck meat in the morning like it was bacon.

Most importantly thank you for being you. My daddy/comedian/problem fixer.

Love,

Your baby girl.

To those who celebrate, you just spent an entire day cooking an elaborate meal with all of your favorite foods. You probably ate your body weight in pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. What happens now? 18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
