Thank you for believing in me. Whether it came to my dance skills or who I am as a person, you always thought the best of me. You held a torch that has guided me through this short journey that we've known each other, and it has been remarkable. I hope our time together continues till the very end, because I have never had someone believe in me as much as you (besides my parents). On days I would struggle, all I needed was for someone to tell me that I could do something and you did that for me. You never said these things because you felt sorry for me, but because you are genuine and truly believe that I am more than what I make myself out to be.
Thank you for being more than just a dance instructor. You have been an excellent example of what I should look like when I'm dancing or how I should execute certain moves. However, you have been more than what a wonderful teacher should be. You have been a big sister, a mentor, and a mother. Other people may find it weird that I could have all of these people in one, but it doesn't matter. I am beyond fortunate to have you in my life. I love that I am able to vent to you about boy problems or borrow your clothes because I forgot to buy pants for my first day of work. I would have never thought that your presence could be such a significant one. I know now that all heroes don't wear capes, but some just wear tap shoes.
Thank you for continuing to offer opportunities and letting me be a part of your life. You haven't failed to stay in contact with me even though I am in college. I appreciate your efforts in following up with me continuously. This means more to me than you know. I have a passion for dance, and you only help grow that. This has been almost two years of knowing you, and I feel as though it has been forever. You allow me to stay connected to you and anything dance related, and I am appreciative of those things. Being able to eventually teach and work beside you in dance is a great honor for me in every way. Not only are you helping me grow in my technique and skills, but as a human being.
Now before this all gets much more sappy, I must wrap this up by saying thank you for giving me a purpose. Dance is a gift that pushes me to be healthier and to use my talent to move people and myself. Dance has been an expressive part of me, including theater, writing, and singing. But this by far has been a dream of mine that I am finally able to accomplish because of you. And I wouldn't want to share my growth in this way with anyone else.
