A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend's Family

To my boyfriend's family,

It now seems like ages ago when I first walked into the doors of your house to meet you all for the first time. I was extremely nervous, and I hoped that I would make a good impression and that you all would like me. One of my biggest hopes in a relationship is for my significant other's family to like who I am. It's extremely important to me, since these are the people who are the closest to them, and whatever they think of me is crucial to our relationship. But when I walked into the door and said hello, I had no idea how much you would all soon mean to me and how thankful I am for all of you!

Thank you for constantly making me laugh.

Whenever I head over for a family dinner or just to hang out, I know I'm going to have a great time with a lot of laughs. You are all so entertaining with your funny stories, quirky relationships, and random comments. You may say you are a dysfunctional family, but I know it's in the best way possible. Oh, and thank you for sharing embarrassing stories about my boyfriend, I love them!

Thank you for sharing your special moments with me.

The weddings, family nights, and holidays have been amazing to share with you all. It's so heartwarming to be a part of some of the most special days that you all have together, and to also share some of the great memories. Those days I'll never forget, and they'll go down in my books as some of the greatest days of my life!

Thank you for always being there for him.

Since my significant other and I have been dating, I have seen you all love and support him through anything he's gone through. With all of the ups and downs in life, you all have shown me the true meaning of unconditional family love, and you have given him the best support system. You're all truly amazing for that.

Thank you for welcoming me in.

When you meet your significant other's family for the first time, you never know what you are truly going to expect. You all welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. It's sometimes not easy to do that, but you all took the time to get to know me. I know if I ever need someone, I can always call one of you.

Thank you for letting me date him.

This is what I am most thankful for. I never thought I would ever meet someone as special and amazing as him, and you have all supported our relationship and welcomed me in as part of your family. The love and gratitude I feel is overwhelming, and I am so honored to be a part of your lives. You are the most amazing family, and I cannot thank you enough!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
