A Thank You To My Better Half

Dear boyfriend,

Thank you for constantly bringing out the best in me and pushing me out of my comfort zone every day. If it weren’t for you, hell, I wouldn’t even be writing for this amazing platform.

Thank you for teaching me new things every day, even though sometimes I tune you out, I promise I learn so much from you. Even politics …

Thank you for accepting the fact that I’ll never "adult" because being a kid is more fun. Even though you can turn into the typical grandpa, you still let me be the annoying child I’ll forever be.

Thank you for always ordering more food than you can eat just because you know I’ll eat off your plate along with mine.

Thank you for taking me to McDonald's at 2 a.m. because I was craving it, or for ordering pizza every weekend just because that’s my favorite food.

Thank you for putting up with my dramatic personality all the time and never complaining. Especially when I ended "Friends" and went through withdrawal.

Thank you for introducing me to so many new people including your amazing family. I’m so lucky to have them as my family too.

Thank you for always cleaning up my messes, and I mean all of them. Even though you tell people that I could make a second meal with all the ingredients I spill on the floor, I’m still thankful you clean it up.

Thank you for listening to my problems and drama even though it doesn’t involve you.

Thank you for loving me unconditionally and proving to me that true love does exist. I appreciate you more than anything and I could never say thank you enough.

So to my soul mate, my best friend, and my better half:

Thank you.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
