Dear Family of My Best Friend,
First I want to thank you for raising such an amazing human being. I don’t know where I would be without them in my life. Honestly probably out causing more trouble than we together already do. Not only do I want to thank you for raising such an amazing human being but having an amazing family that I can feel a part of. Now don’t get me wrong my family is nothing short of amazing but it’s nice to know I have a few more.
I am beyond grateful that I feel as though I fight right in. I never feel out of place in a house full of my best friends. Thank you for being so inviting and always welcoming me with open arms. I feel as though I am just another kid to add to your list of biological ones. There has never been a time where I have felt unwanted.
Thank you for all of the cheesy dad jokes or the pancakes after a sleepover. I mean were old enough now one would think we could cook but let’s be honest parent’s pancakes are always better.
Thank you for always letting me accidentally calling you mom or dad; and making it seem like its natural. Or letting me call your kids my siblings. I mean I have known the practically my whole life, so it’s a normal thing to me.
Now onto thanking the actual siblings of my best friends. They are always truly the life of the party.
I cannot count how many “siblings” I have on one or two hands. Because you are my best friend’s siblings you are also mine or at least one would think.
Thank you for treating me just like any other kid in the house. I never felt as though I wasn’t a part of a family. I was always included in the fights and drama not that that was always fun, but it meant something to me. It meant I was also a sibling.
Thank you for being there for me almost just as much as my best friend is. You are the ones I call next. I know that you would also do almost anything for me, just like I would do almost anything for you. I always know that I can count on you whenever.
Thank you for never allowing there to be a dull moment at your house. I was always included and never counted out because I was just a friend. Thank you for always making sleepovers more interesting, even if you were just the annoying sibling when we were younger.
Thank you for teasing me or pointing out the classic middle school styles. Thank you for never really judging me and always accepting me as family. Finally thank you for always letting me call you my brother or sister.
There are a thousands of other individual memories that I could thank you guys for but that would make me write an entire book. But the last thing I want to thank you for is the unconditional love and support you offer me.
Love,
Your child’s best friend
