On March 1st, 2015, my life was changed for the better. I found out that on my sister's trip home from Ecuador, her boyfriend picked her up from the airport and asked a very important question. The big four letter words, "will you marry me?" I still remember the feelings of shock and pure joy when my whole family Face-timed and she showed us the ring. I was so very excited; her fiance has made a great/ welcoming impression with my family, and I knew that he was perfect for her. The only problem was I would have to share her; I couldn't have her as my Valentine. We may be six years apart but I will always consider her one of my best friends, my inspiration, my phone call away when I was upset, my hug when I needed it.

Since that day when I got the big news, I wanted some way to show her my gratitude and appreciation for everything she has done for me. So here is a thank you note to you; the one who went from my oldest sister to the one I could count on for everything. So if you are reading this, I love you and I can't wait to share the big day with you as one of your maid of honors.

Growing up as the fourth child I thought that I was invisible to the world, that I wouldn't be included in activities, but there you were; being the loyal, responsible oldest sister. You were always counting me in on what you were doing. I still remember coming home from elementary school before you came home from high school and waiting anxiously by the door to see you. I remember when you would carry me around on your back because I asked, or playing dress up because I wanted to dress like princesses. I can never forget when you found your passion for playing pretend doctor and I was your patient you always treated.

As the years passed; we still remained close; you knew sharing a room with another sibling was not easy so you always had your door open So i could run in whenever I was angry or upset. I was so very impressed how you knew to keep me calm when my sibling would get on my nerves. You would play with my hair, paint my nails and be my playmate.

Fast forward to when you left for college; I was so hurt I was not going to see you every day, but you promised you would call me every day, text me when you could, and have me visit from time to time. I still look forward to when I look at my phone and your name comes up; I get a big smile. As you reminded me, you did a great job all the time calming my nerves before a test, teaching me the ways so I could make you proud.

I have learned numerous lessons from you; I learned how to have more confidence in myself, how it is better to listen half the time than talk, and how sometimes the best decisions are the hardest to make. I am so very blessed to be your maid of honor, I know you will be the most stunning lady there in your dress. I also know that no matter the distance and age apart from us, you will always be my big sister and I will always be your goose, your otterbox, your baby sister. So congratulations on finding a great fiance and a future husband. Love you both.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
