Thank You Letter To My Sister
Taylor Ardo

Dear Sister,

There are so many things I need to thank you for, so I'll start with this. Thank you for being you. I have known forever that you are hands down one of the best people that God put on this Earth and I'm beyond blessed to have you as my sister and best friend. You are kind, loving, loyal and super intelligent. Never change!

Next, I want to say thank you for always including me, even when it might not have been the coolest thing in the world to have your little sister tagging along with you. You included me with all your friends and drove me anywhere I wanted to go. I could count on you for anything and everything.

Thank you for being my best friend. I can't think of anyone else in this world that I would want to share all of our wild times, fun vacations and amazing shopping trips with. Every memory I have, you a part of and I can't thank you enough for that. I have always considered myself very lucky that we are so close and do everything together. I hope that never changes!

Thank you for never judging me. You have seen me at my absolute worst and lowest points. You were always there to offer a shoulder to cry on, or better yet you would just break down and cry with me. You laugh at my stupid jokes and tell me to be quiet when I'm being annoying. You tell me when my hair looks bad, and I tell you when you have too much makeup on. I'm so glad we can be honest with each other, without ever getting offended.

Thank you for knowing me better than I know myself. You never fail to amaze me how you know exactly what I'm upset about, or why I'm really happy. I swear you can read my mind sometimes. We can communicate without talking, just by making facial expressions to each other. I swear we were meant to be twins. We've always been on the same wave length.

Finally, I want to say thank you for sharing Mom and Dad with me. You came along first and stole Mom and Dad's hearts. The three of you had 16 months together until I came along, and our family was complete. Thank you for allowing me to steal some of Mom and Dad's attention away from you. You're the best :)

I can't imagine life without you, and I never want to. I love you.

Love,

Your Little Sister

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
