I have now been at Jacksonville State University for 7 months and even in this short time, it has brought me many great things. It has already given me some of my best friends that I know will be in my life forever and I am so thankful for that. It has given me the people that I still have no idea how I made it through the first 18 years of my life without. JSU has already given me the basis to my future career. It is so nice to know that I go to a school where my education is valued and where the administration and teachers actually want to see me succeed. I have made some of the best memories here in such a short time. From being in Freshman Forum to marching my first season with the Marching Southerners and getting to attend all of the football games. It has shown me what family and tradition is and I am extremely thankful for that. So thank you Jacksonville State University for my new best friends, showing me my path in life, giving me new and incredible memories, and for showing me what it is truly like to be valued by your fellow students.

Oh yea, Christmas. It’s time to take out all of the decorations and Christmas themed things that have been sitting in the attic since last year; it’s time to make a reappearance. For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
