For Those Who Have Inspired Me And Lifted Me Up When I Needed It Most, Thank You

The things that inspire us, be it literature, films, games, music or people in general, we ought to give them more credit for the ways they brighten our lives.

We're dependent on others for many things; for help, for support, for things we need and things we want. But we never put importance on those who motivate us in other ways, and inspire us. We all appreciate those who have helped us when we need it, but we take the people who inspire us for granted.

Yes, we need food, water, the love of friends and family to be happy, but no one thinks about motivation or inspiration as something essential we need. But the thing is, without being inspired, we would have no reason to create. We would have nothing to look forward to doing or making, and there would be nothing in life we would be really passionate about. So the things that inspire us, be it literature, films, games, music or people in general, we ought to give them more credit for the ways they brighten our lives.

So for the things and the people who inspire me to use my create and express myself through my artwork, thank you. For helping me realize that could use my skills as an outlet, for convincing me that artwork and writing aren't a waste of time and could be something amazing. For bringing out the artistic side of me and giving me a different view on the world, on life, than what school does.

For the people who inspire me to to take on goals and dreams for the future, thank you. For those who reach such heights and do such wonderful things that they make me want to accomplish goals, too. For the people who motivate me to change both the world and my life for the better by seeing them do it themselves.

For those who inspire me to do my best every single day, thank you. For those who study relentlessly to keep us their grades and show me that if I really try, I could do well to. For those who encourage me to put my all into everything I do, because they never leave a task without doing it to the best of their activity.

For those who make me the best version of myself, thank you. For those who visibly try so hard to improve themselves and make me realize I shouldn't just accept my faults, I should fix them. For those who manage to make it through the impossible and show me that even the hardest task in my eyes is nothing compared to what I could be facing. For those who manage to be the best friends, mothers, daughters, students, teachers, lovers, learners and humans, and inspire me to be the best person I could be.

Thank you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
