I went to Google to find out what the heck I was going to write about this week. I had no idea. I'm tired and grumpy and I'm writing this at the laundromat and I'm annoyed because more people are here than usual. I went to Google because I needed an idea. I didn't know it was going to simply be Google.
This picture was there, and it made me smile. I hovered over it, wondering what the significant day was, since Google is well known for changing the logo for holidays. But it wasn't a day. It was a doodle.
"Doodle 4 Google 2016/2017 Winner! - 'A Peaceful Future'" by Sarah Harrison, Stamford, CT," is what it said. I smiled. Because people like to say to me, "IS THIS THE FUTURE YOU LIBERALS WANT?" And yes, they yell it at me. This picture -- this is what we want. We want peace and kindness and acceptance and love. So yes, this is the future I want. Where people aren't afraid to be themselves, and where people love one another despite differences. This is what I want. This is what I hope for.
