I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have been called "weird." I have been called weird because I laugh too loud or because I say what's on my mind. I'm weird because I make jokes. I used to find it rather insulting being called "weird." I didn't think I would define myself as "weird." I sometimes catch myself over-analyzing what people say to me or what they think of me as a person, but what does that solve? Absolutely nothing.
Dwelling on what people might think about you becomes a great excuse not to live to your full extent. You then feel a desire to change who you are to please others around you. Let me tell you — people will think what they want about you. They might think you are weird, different, crazy or funny. That's OK. Do you know what else people with think of you? That you are amazing, inspiring, carefree and strong. Don't let someone else's opinion kill your vibe and get in the way of living to your full potential.
With every "you're weird" comment that gets thrown my way, it makes me realize how being normal must suck. I would much rather be weird than boring, loud than silent and carefree instead of hiding myself behind a mask of what someone else wants me to be.
People will remember you most for your genuine soul than for blending in with the crowd. Stand OUT.
Your true self with threaten some. They will see you, talk smack (like all people do nowadays) and continue living their boring lives centered around being judgmental. Your weirdness, that is made up of beauty, love, honesty, wisdom, humor and much more, will inspire and leave a mark on the lives you touch. Let go of any excuses you have that are holding you back from being who you are meant to be. If you want to try something new — hello?! DO IT! People will talk, but you will conquer it all in the end.
Embrace your weird — embrace yourself.
