Okay, so first let's shout out the OG dry shampoo - baby powder. If you say you've never used baby powder on second-day hair prior to the amazingness that is today's dry shampoo became so popular, you're a liar. It was like a right of passage to use baby powder and to use too much and then spend five minutes rubbing in. Anyway, I digress, shouting out baby powder is a must because it was the OG lifesaver. Moving on.
Dry shampoo is ridiculously underrated. For those of you who are like "ew that's gross, you should shower". News flash: you don't have to wash your hair every time you shower. So your point is kind of irrelevant - just stop. There are days where you can hop in the shower, rinse off, not have time to wash your hair, get out, spray some dry shampoo and you're good to go. It's actually sometimes healthier not to wash your hair every day (I'm no doc or hair stylist so don't quote me on it) but at the very least, it won't kill you to not wash your hair for a day. And when those days roll around and you're nervous about your hair getting a little greasy: dry. shampoo.
It's the silent ninja of the morning, kicking butt before you've even had your morning coffee. Just a few sprays can completely change your look and make your holy crap, I don't have enough time to get ready morning, into an okay, well at least I look decent! morning. It's a time saver and with all bigger companies jumping on the dry shampoo train over the past few years, there's more scents and kinds than a girl could dream of. Have oily hair? There's powder dry shampoo. Have flat hair? They have volume dry shampoo. Have blonde hair or brunette hair? They make dry shampoo to match that. If you want to save the animals - they even have cruelty free companies making dry shampoo. Your hair can look fabulous for days with dry shampoo.
One great plus for those of us who have hair that doesn't wait to do much is that second-day hair tends to style better. When your hair is freshly washed, it may not want to hold a curl or stay straight but on day two, it's more likely to do what you want. So why not spray some dry shampoo on it to make it look like freshly-washed hair, but style it to feel like a beauty? Win-win all around.
Basically, dry shampoo could be one of the best things to happen to anyone who doesn't want to wash their hair every day. it's ridiculously convenient, easy to use and comes in handy during those mornings where you pressed the snooze button one too many times.
*disclaimer: I'm not condoning never washing your hair and some dry shampoo brands may not work well for you or dry shampoo may not work for you AT ALL. Do your research before trusting me (who's never had a hairdresser lesson a day in my life) and live your life! :)
