To my boyfriends family,
First of all, I want to thank each of you for the role you played in creating the man of my dreams. He is sweet and kind like I know you raised him to be. He is creative and smart, a trait I know you instilled in him. But most importantly, he is my best friend. The one I turn to when there's nowhere else to turn. The one I trust more than anything. The one I see a future with. I believe with all my heart that he is the man he is today because of all of you, so thank you.
Thank you for teaching him to love God before anything else, for teaching him respect and to always offer his help to anyone who needs it, and to never give up. Thank you for teaching him the meaning of hard work and that he should always work hard to achieve his dreams.
Thank you for letting him love me. Thank you for letting him love my family. Despite all the troubles and heartache my family has been through, he has been by my side through it all. Thank you for allowing me to love your family and offer my help and support whenever you guys need it.
I also want to thank each of you for welcoming me into your lives with open arms. I know I'm quiet and it was probably challenging to try to get to know me, but I never for one second felt like I wasn't exactly where I was supposed to be. You never made me feel like I didn't belong or like I was intruding. Instead, you saved a spot for me at so many family gatherings and made me feel like a part of the family, like if I didn't show something must be wrong. You treated me like one of your own and I can't thank you enough for that.
Thank you for all your opinions and suggestions and also thanks for asking for mine. Thank you for your honesty and kindness. Thank you for excepting me.
Since I've met you, every one of you has done nothing but believe in me and encourage me in everything I do. I've only ever felt such love and fulfillment from my own family. I know I can rely on you all to pick me up when I'm down, to take care of me when I need it, and to help me with whatever it is that I'm struggling with.
Whether it be sending me a Target gift card to purchase notebooks for school or providing me with scripture in the times I need it most, every one of you has shown nothing but love and support for me so, again, thank you.
Thank you to his mom for being so easy to talk to, to his dad for always asking how I am and expecting a real answer, to all his grandparents for inviting me into their homes and their lives and for learning to love me, to his siblings for excepting me and for becoming like my own, and to the rest of his family for being so kind and welcoming.
I'm sure in the future I'll find even more things to thank you for, but for now, from the bottom of my heart...
Thank you.
