On Wednesday, June 7, the lives of Sooner fans changed drastically. Why is that? Because Bob Stoops, head coach of the University of Oklahoma football team, announced his retirement. Stoops, thank you for everything.

1. Thank you for 18 seasons.

We could not have asked for a better head coach for our beloved football team. It is pretty amazing that you can claim the title of the as the longest-tenured coach in college football. You gave us 18 seasons of incredible football seasons that we will never forget.

2. Thank you for our national championship in 2000.

Who does not love a natty? We have you to thank for coaching our team to be national champions.

3. Thank you for our 10 Big 12 titles.

The Big 12 has nothing on the University of Oklahoma and that is all thanks to you, Bob. No other program has more than two Big 12 titles during Stoops reign as head coach at OU.

4. Thank you for our 14 seasons with double digit wins.

Now that is something to be proud of and that would not have happened without you as our coach.

5. Thank you for being a Sooner Legend.

There is no one like you and there will never be anyone like you, Bob. You changed the Sooners for the better and we will forever be thankful for every single thing you have done for our team and Sooner Nation.

6. Thank you for being the winningest coach in OU history.

You have a 190-48 record, which is absolutely incredible. You have led the Sooners in victory time and time again. The proof is in the numbers, you are the best coach out there.

7. Thank you for taking us to a bowl game every year.

There is nothing like traveling across the country to see our boys play their hearts out at a bowl game. You have taken us to a bowl game every year and that is something to be proud of.

8. Thank you for coaching two Heisman Trophy winners.

OUr quarterbacks Jason White and Sam Bradford could not have won the Heisman without your leadership and coaching. Those were proud moments four OUr university.

9. Thank you for the big crowds at home.

During Stoops time as head coach, all 110 home game have been sold out at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. There is nothing better than screaming "Boomer Sooner" at the top of your lungs with over 80,000 of your Sooner family at Owen Field.

10. Thank you for being a symbol of OU football.

From watching you coach the Sooners on tv to going to games with my family and finally to going to games as an OU student, you have always been a symbol of OU football for me and you forever will be.

Boomer Sooner!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
