My dear backpack,
We've done so many things together; you were there for the big moments of my life and helped carry the burden of schooling. I've stuffed you with almost anything that I could find. I've spilled things on you with stuff that'll never come out of your sturdy exterior and dark interior. I've also left things that made you look like a messy person. Even though some would blame you for not keeping things in your pockets, it was usually I who didn't take care of those things when I gave them to you.
I know we have had a love - hate relationship, especially with our common enemy, school. They made us carry books that would make us feel like we were carrying boulders on our backs. And then, again, when they blamed us for our homework being crumpled and ripped. There usually wasn't anything we could do about that — usually aimed at those annoying folders — and once in a while, they just got lost in the pages of the textbooks.
I'm sorry for the times that I've dropped you: on top of drop kicking you, normal kicking you, and overall turning you into my personal punching bag. I am also thankful for you being a nifty chair for waiting until my rides showed up. And man, were you a good pillow for when I was tired.
Thank you for all the memories that we have already gone through — but I'm also thankful for all the things that will be coming for us in the future.
Sincerely,
Your Best Friend
