Ariana Grande has recently been in the news more than ever before. Not only did her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, overdose last month but her engagement with Pete Davidson was called off, and she released a new hit titled "Thank U, Next." All of this attention from the media, especially in light of these events, is terrifying. However, Ariana has held true to herself and has drawn strength from herself in these hard times, learning from them and teaching others to do the same.

1. Her reaction to the Manchester bombings at her concert in 2017

"broken.
from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words." -Ariana's tweet after the attack

It would be easy to feel guilty for hosting the show where 22 people ended up dead after the bombing. However, Ariana stayed strong and did everything she could to support survivors and loved ones of those who passed. She visited those injured in the attack when they were at the hospital, and she met family members of those who passed.

2. Her response to her ex-boyfriend's death

"i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can't believe you aren't here anymore. i really can't wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i'm so mad, i'm so sad i don't know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i'm so sorry i couldn't fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you're okay now. rest." -Ariana on Instagram

Several people lashed out at Ariana Grande, blaming her for Mac Miller's death, but she disabled her comments to block the hate and did not stoop down to their level as she grieved and processed in a healthy way.

3. The way she approaches her breakups

Many music artists use their songs to get back at their exes or call them out in some way. Ariana, on the other hand, acknowledges everything she has learned from her exes and thanks them in her new song written after she and Pete Davidson called off their engagement.

4. Her involvement in empowering campaigns

5. She has some empowering lyrics in her songs as well

"I only wanna die alive / Never by the hands of a broken heart / Don't wanna hear ya lie tonight / Now that I've become who I really am." -"Break Free"

"The girl you see in photographs, is only / A part of the one I am, don't judge me / 'Cause that's not reality and all I can be / Is in love with who I'm becoming." -"You Don't Know Me"

"Popular, I know about popular / And all that you have to do is be true to you / That's all you ever need to know." -"Popular Song"

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
