A Thank You To That Special Someone

CAUTION: CHEESY AND SAPPY

A Thank You To That Special Someone

When life is a bit chaotic and we get too stressed out, sometimes we forget to thank and realize some of the things our boyfriend/girlfriend, special friend, or whatever the heck you want to the call person do for us. At times, we get too caught up in our own lives and just forget to remind ourselves that the other person has feelings and a life too (crazy, I know). Here are a few things to remember to thank that person for.

Thank you for listening to my obnoxious gossip and let me go on rants about the dumbest things. Even if you don't have the perfect advice to give back to you or really just don't know how to respond, you love me enough to sit patiently and listen until I'm done blabbing about my pointless drama. Sometimes I know you will just agree with me or say you don't like that person either just to make me feel better. Since you are my go to person with all the dirt that's going on in my life, thank you for being my ultimate secret keeper. It is the best feeling ever knowing that I can trust one person with everything.

Thank you for always making me feel confident. There have been many occasions when I just don't feel that pretty or don't like my outfit that day, but you always make sure to compliment me on something to make me feel beautiful. Not only do you make me feel pretty, but you make me feel confident in whatever I am doing. If it's studying for a test that I know is going to kill me or playing a sport that I know I suck at, you always have the right words to boost my self-esteem.

Thank you for the little things you do for me. As cheesy as it is, it's the little things that matter the most. From randomly surprising me with my favorite food, to going to the movies to see the movie you did not want to see at all, the small things you do never go unnoticed. Also, remembering tiny things about me always make me feel so special.

Thank you for always making me laugh. You always know the right thing to say to make me smile and laugh my butt off. Especially when you know I am in a bad mood, you can make my mood switch in an instant. At the same time, you know when it's the right time to be funny or serious. The best jokes are the ones only you and I get and are funny every time.

Thank you for pushing me to be a better person. You always want the best for me and always see the full potential I have. Even though you have to be brutally honest sometimes, in the end I know it's because you want the best for me. When it's hard to see the "light at the end of the tunnel," you always make sure I don't give up. If it's convincing me to apply for a job I know I won't get or not ditching class (again), you're always there to keep me line. Thank you for always supporting me and congratulating me even when we both know I messed up or didn't do something very well.

In the end, as cheesy and sappy as this might have sounded, it is important to always remind yourself about all the amazing things your significant other does for you and how happy they make you feel.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
