Thank You, Mr. President

Dear President Obama,

I’m a republican and probably always will be, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to see you go. We might not agree on everything and we certainly have our different opinions on issues, but that doesn’t matter. You will always be a role model and, in my mind, one of the greatest presidents in US history. Everything you’ve accomplished and everything you’ve been through inspires me, and it inspires many others as well. The past eight years with you in the Oval Office has been an honor for Americans, whether people want to admit that or not. So I’m here to say thank you.

Thank you for breaking through barriers and for moving forward no matter how much hate you’ve received throughout the past eight years. You’ve made it through discrimination, racial profiling, and sometimes pure hatred. You continued to run this country despite all of those obstacles and you’ve done a hell of a job of it.

Thank you for being unapologetically black and for embracing the fact you’re a minority. You’ve shown the world that the president doesn’t have to be just some white guy and you’ve reassured us that everyone has the ability to prosper with hard work and determination. You’ve proved the haters wrong. You’ve given hope to people and you’ve inspired many.

Thank you for always keeping it real. You’ve managed to make America laugh and cry by being so realistic and so relatable no matter what the issue is, big or small. You’ve proven that the president doesn’t have to be uptight all the time and serious every minute of the day. The president can laugh at himself. The president can get down on the floor and play with a baby. You’ve shown America so many emotions and have been able to connect with us in a unique way that no other president has before.

Thank you for empowering younger generations. You were able to reach the younger people like no other. You got people more involved and you got people to care. You've led the country with hope for the future and constantly had young lives in your heart and mind. You've helped millennials grow and you've taught us so much along the way as well.

Thank you for showing America your elegance and class. You and your family have been nothing but respectable throughout your two terms. You and your wife, Michelle, have given America a model of what true love is. You're not only a great president but also a great husband and father, and that's something everyone can look up to. It has been a pleasure being able to grow up with you and your family.

Thank you for handling this past election with sophistication. You stayed positive and you managed the chaos in our country respectfully, and you continue to do so even after the results have come in. It takes a special kind of person to sit where you sit and to be as kind, understanding, and calm as you are throughout tough times. You’re truly admirable for that.

Thank you for dedicating the past 8 years of your life to this country. Thank you for making history. Thank you for everything you’ve done and will continue to do.

Thank you for being my president.

Now go take a vacation. You and your family deserve it.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
