To some, animals are just animals. However, I am not one of those people. I spoil my dog more than anyone else I know. To me, my dog is not just a four-legged pet. My dog, Angel, is my support system, loyal companion, and my best friend. It might seem silly to thank a dog because she cannot read nor talk back to me but, I don't care. When you find an animal, something amazing overcomes you. Your animal becomes your baby. And since I don't plan on having children for another ten years, I treat her like a child. Dogs don't care how much money you have, if your house is the biggest on the block or how much money is in your bank account. Dogs just want to love you.
My dog cannot talk to me but I can tell she understands me. When I'm sad, my dog comes up to me and smiles so big with her tongue sticking out. When I see her face, I can no longer be upset or sad. When I'm laying in bed and call out "Angel," I can count on her to run into my arms and lay down with me. She is the most comforting animal I've ever had. I cannot get enough of her love. I bonded with my dog the day we got her over five years ago. As soon as I heard we both shared the same birthday May 16, I knew I was going to love her so much more. I cannot begin to thank my dog enough for being an amazing companion.
When I come back to San Antonio from San Marcos, the first and last person I want to see is my dog. Once I leave my house to head back to San Marcos, I hear Angel standing on the other side of the door scratching and crying. When I hear it cries, it breaks my heart because I cannot take her with me. As I'm leaving, I always think to myself, "Once I save up enough money to get a bigger apartment, I'll take you with me and you can have a house all to yourself." See, my family has four other dogs. My dog is one of those dogs that demands an abundance amount of attention and love and needs to be the center of someone's life.
Having your animal can be difficult and expensive. You have to ensure yourself that you can take time out of your day to love your animal and money to pay for grooming, vet bills, and food. However, it is all worth it. They will love you endlessly and always be there for you. An animal sees you as their whole life. Their life revolves around you and no one else. As where a human sees their life revolving around their children, work, spouse, etc. At most a dog will live up to 15-20 years, so we as humans should use those 15-20 years to give our dogs the best life. They might be dogs, but to them, we are their everything.
