First of all, thank you for being crazy freshman with me. Thank you for being down to go to McDonalds at three in the morning and studying with me all night for that one biology test. Thank you for honestly making Creighton my home away from home. You guys are the reason that I miss Creighton when I’m home and the reason I don’t miss home as much when I’m here. Thank you for exploring downtown with me and taking bus rides to the mall every month. Thank you for introducing me to the Midwest lifestyle and inviting me home for Thanksgiving. Thank you for being as crazy and weird as I am.
Honestly moving away for college is stressful, exciting, and nerve wrecking at the same time. The first few weeks are some of the hardest, because there is a huge adjustment period. For some people, its learning to do laundry for the first time, getting used to a small dorm room that you have to share, or getting used to having more free time but also dedicating more time to your classes. It's getting a B or C on a test and learning it's not the end of the world because you're used to your high school 4.0. Personally, none of that would have been as easy as it was if not for the amazing friends I made freshman year. Granted I'm not friends with all of them now, but I wouldn't change the experiences I shared with them for the world.
Thank you for convincing me to go through recruitment and being as nervous as I was throughout the week. Somehow our combined nerves balanced out and made it all seem okay. Thank you to my sorority sisters as I've learned so much from you and have made some of my favorite college memories thus far with. Thank you for pledge class bonding, like the time we all went to the Flo-Rida concert, literally one of the best nights as a bluejay. Thank you for entertaining me on my bad days with our group chat. Thank you to my big for being the best mom and giving me a twin (even though I didn't want one at first but lots of love for you Taylor). Thank you for the opportunity to go to St. Louis this summer to learn even more about our sisterhood.
Thank you to the friends from freshman year that I call my best friends. For those late night talks to late night adventures. Thank you for going to Target with me late at night because I ran out of toilet paper. Thank you for making going out-of-state for college worth it and now I have so many places to visit over the summer. Thank you for being you and making me always feel loved as I always have a dinner&study date now. Thank you for being you.
