Home is where your heart is. If that’s true, I left my heart in Arlington, Texas when I moved to college a few weeks ago. Your hometown is where your roots lay and where your memories will never fade. Moving 600 miles away from the place I never thought I would leave was a huge eyeopener and has truly made me grateful for where I’m from. Arlington's population is nearly 365,800 people; I am glad I can say that I am one of those 365,800. Coming from a big city and moving to a small college town has made me grateful that I was able to grow up in such a big city. So thank you Arlington, Texas for many things.
Thank you for helping me make thousands of memories with friends I’ve met as time went on. Thank you for letting us be as loud as we wanted to be on a Saturday night. Thank you for having nearly a thousand streets for me to drive on when I first got my license. Thank you for having so many restaurants to choose from that are even open past 1 a.m. Thank you for being the city where I first started my love for baseball because of the Texas Rangers. Thank you for the easy access to almost every store I could think of.
Thank you for being the city that I attended church on Sundays. Thank you for having many mission and volunteer opportunities. Thank you for having such great schools where I learned new things everyday. Thank you for having such great high school football rivalries where I spent my Friday nights.
Thank you for being the city that I knew everything about. Thank you for the number of times I said I couldn't wait to move away and not getting mad. Thank you for letting me grow up in such an amazing city as yourself.
See you soon,
An Arlington girl.
