Welcome back, October!
I have longing for you for what feels like a million years (obviously over exaggerated but you get the point.) This has to be my absolute favorite time of the year (not over exaggerated.) How can you not love all the beautiful colors and the crisp fresh air? Ever since I can remember I have always loved autumn, best friends family kind of engraved it into my brain (and my heart) to have a love for fall, especially the month of October. I have never seen anyone with a love for Halloween more than her family. If you walked in their house and couldn't tell for their love for Halloween by the all year round Halloween decorations in the basement of the multiple shelves of horror movies, or the signed photographs with them at the Blob Fest meeting all the actors from their favorite horror movies, you might be able to tell by their extravagant (one night and one night only) front yard Halloween display.
Not only did I always have unforgettable Halloween with my best friends family on Halloween, all October long was with all the best fall activities! Most of our time was spent around the campfire telling horror stories, and some more of our month was jam packed full of visits to the pumpkin farm and of course to the haunted houses! How can anyone celebrate Halloween without visiting a haunted house??? It is completely unfathomable to me! It is always the best time of the year when you can wear nothing but comfy clothes consisting of mostly sweatpants/ yoga pants, sweatshirts / sweaters and nice warm and fuzzy boots and sit around watching hour long horror movie marathons!
Halloween is always better when you have a little one around to take trick or treating with you! Little kids are always more fun when it comes to special holidays. It is not always fun on Halloween when they do not always understand the concept of fictional characters being displayed in your front yard, especially when they are extremely terrifying... even to a grown adult! Then there are always the kids like my niece who is completely fearless and can see through our attempts to scare her.
Then on the other hand there is always kids that are just like my brother when he was younger who barely even liked to go out on Halloween because he was always so terrified of everything trying to scare the hell out of him! It did not help that my older sister and I use to run around in a green goblin mask trying to scare him and our younger neighbors, sometimes those things will scar a kid for life! Not me though! I was lucky enough to have been broken in at a very young age that Halloween not so terrifying as it is exciting!
