  1. If you really value a relationship/friendship and right now it’s pretty rocky because of whatever, apologize. If you care about that person, you will just try to do what you can to resolve the issue before the New Year. Don’t bring unnecessary drama into 2017, and anyway, if you don’t that friend or whoever may think you’re “leaving them behind”. Trust me, I think it’s kind of childish to see the New Year as something like that but I’ve seen it happen.
  2. If you or your loved one are religious, you could send them a modern “New Year’s Prayer” just to start of the year with positivity and light.
  3. It’s always good to check up on your friends and see if they have any plans in case they’re like me and spending it alone.
  4. A simple ‘love you’ text to grandma is always good, even though she’d rather you call.
  5. Go ahead and start those resolutions that you probably won’t finish…
  6. Lastly, cut off dead weight. New Years is really the time that you can just cut someone off with little to no real reason. Maybe you just aren’t feeling their vibes.

Just make sure to enjoy yourself, be happy, and eat black-eyed peas!

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
