"Did you see THAT on Facebook?!"

Being so far away from your family makes keeping in touch really hard. But, thank the Lord and rest his soul-- Steve Jobs came up with the perfect way to keep updated with what's going on with the fam-squad and extended family: the group chat.

Most families have created a group chat to exchange important news, share stories, and keep schedules synced. The dynamic is different for every family, but there are token texts every single one of them shares.

"What do we need from the grocery store?"

Of course a list was made, and mom has all her coupons at the ready, but this is her last-ditch effort to give all family members one last chance to tell her if they need anything. This never works because someone always forgets they needed something super important, but hey-- at least she tried.

"OMG you'll never believe what happened to me today!"

Story time is the best time. Even if they story isn't that great, it brings the family together for a minute or so to laugh at what happened to an unsuspecting family member. Some of the best story-times have been shared via text.

"What time do you have that again?"

Keeping up with a busy family can be hard, and someone always forgets when something is. And someone else in the chat totally forgot about the event altogether. This text also keeps everyone on the same page. It's a small miracle families functioned so well before the group chat was started.

"Did you see what (insert extended family member's name) posted on Facebook?!"

Ahh, social media. The best and worst thing to happen to society. Of course no family is perfect, and sometimes there is bad blood, but in times like these, social media is great for keeping up with (and probably making fun) the other sides of the family.

"Who did (something that really annoys a parental unit) this morning?!"

Crickets. No one is ever gonna admit they did something stupid. Nice try.

"(Insert a dig at a someone)"

Group chats are the best for roasting family members. Maybe it's what they did this morning, or maybe someone got snagged posting a not-family-approved photo on the gram. These are the perfect platforms for just lighting a family member UP. In person is always better, but nothing beats making fun of someone!

"Don't forget..."

Whether it's a lunch, a birthday, or papers, the group chat holds every accountable. It's so awesome to a great support system always there for you.

"Hey, I love you guys"

Sappy, yes, but it ALWAYS makes everyone smile.

So, go ahead. Reread the group chat. I hope it makes you laugh!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
