Football season is finally back in College, Station Texas!

There's no denying that Aggie game days are special. There is a camaraderie so evident at Texas A&M, it captivates the heart and soul of every spectator who steps foot on campus. That spirit runs swiftly through the veins of every past, present, and future Aggie- just like diehard fans running to claim a tailgate spot in Spence Park at the sound of the Friday-noon horn.

I may be biased, but there truly isn't anything else quite like Fightin' Texas Aggie game days. I love everything about them.

Here is why:

1. Midnight Yell.

The very first event of game day - literally. Imagine a huge pep rally, but inside of a football stadium with the A&M student body and any other fans who attend. Plus, it's at midnight. Basically, it's awesome.

2. Tailgating.

Texas A&M is a community and one big family. So naturally, we host some of the best tailgates known to college football. Everyone is invited no matter what tent you find yourself at. There's nothing better than spending time with friends and family beforehand to get pumped up for the game.

3. Cowboy boots galore.

But is it really game day if you don't wear your cowboy boots? Boots are a game day trend in Aggieland and you will never find me complaining about that.

4. 12th Man Towels.

Over 100,000 waving, white 12th Man towels fill the stands of Kyle Field and it's a thrilling site to see.

5. "Power" by Kanye West.

The hype, run-out song for when the Aggies take the field.

6. Reveille leading the team out.

Tell me, what could possibly be cuter than Miss Rev running full force across Kyle Field with the wind blowing through her glorious coat?

7. The "Nationally Famous Fightin' Texas Aggie Band."

The Aggies always win at halftime.

8. The Aggie War Hymn.

Being a part of a sea of maroon, "sawing em' off" in Kyle, is honestly one of my favorite parts about being an Aggie.

9. Lemon Chills and Steel City Pops.

The perfect halftime treat.

10. The Corps of Cadets.

Bonus points if you get to sit with them during the game!

11. Singing the "Spirit of Aggieland."

12. "BTHO" whoever we are playing

13. Third deck views.

14. First deck views.

Aggie football scores bring a shot from the cannon and the fun Aggie tradition of a kiss from your date. So the bigger the win, the better!

16. The Yell Leaders.

At Texas A&M we don't cheer - we YELL. Yell leaders lead yells to unite fans and create a student body atmosphere and presence like no other.

17. Standing with the 12th Man.

I couldn't be more proud to be a part of a student body that is approximately 66,000 strong who stand to support our Ags and yell during the entire game.

Happy football season and Gig'em always!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
