13 Things Texans Need This Christmas

Usually, winter has Texans running for cover, enjoying the cooler weather from the confines of their homes. This year however, 70 and 80 degree days have provided Texans with the dream summer they wanted six months ago. A blessing, or a curse? You decide. Here are 13 things Texans will need this Christmas.

1. An air conditioner

It’s going to be colder inside the house than out.

2. Shorts and Sandals
3. An ugly Christmas t-shirt

Because a sweater’s not happening

4. Some ice cream to go with those Christmas cookies

Hot cocoa will be very unnecessary

5. Christmas movies

At least it will be snowing on your screen

6. A barbecue pit to go with this perfect grilling weather

Looks like there’ll be some burgers next to that holiday ham

7. Some lawn chairs

Might as well have the meal outside, this weather is much more enjoyable than the sweltering 102 you endured this summer

8. A new holiday soundtrack

Might I recommend Colbie Caillat’s album, “Christmas in the Sand,” or the traditional "Mele Kalikimaka" to replace the usual "Let It Snow” and “Baby It’s Cold Outside”?

9. A new outfit for Santa

BY JACOM STEPHENS

Maybe leave him a lighter wardrobe by those cookies to replace the snow boots and coat?

10. A bathing suit

Take that pool cover off!

11. Some new presents

I don't think anyone's going to need all those hats and scarves you bought.

12. A miracle

Maybe a white Christmas is too much to ask for, but how about an overnight cool front?

13. A camera

The true meaning of Christmas matters more than the weather. So make some memories this holiday.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
