Where do I see myself in 10 years? I see myself with a Federal Agency working in a lab to help solve many federal cases. I am analyzing fingerprints that I have been given. I am also analyzing bullets that I have test fired from the weapons used in different cases. To serve and protect is the motto I live by.
In 10 years I see myself with Mr. Right. Talk of starting a family will be a normal dinner conversation. He and I will be partners on this long journey called life, as well as work for the same bureau. I have never been happier in my life than I am right now. My job and Mr. Right are what keeps me going.
I see myself a successful woman who was able to get through all the tough times in order to be here ten years later. I have never been prouder of myself. My family comes to visit me to congratulate me for all the hard work I have been putting in for the last ten years. My mother cries with joy to hear that her baby has grown up to be a fine woman who is advancing in her job. My father tears up too because his baby girl is all grown up with a good head on her shoulders and is at a great place in life. Both of my brothers hug me and congratulate their little sister for being the best at what she does.
I see myself surrounded by people who love me for me. I may not have a huge group of friends, but my small group is good enough for me. This group is what keeps my social life alive outside of work. My girlfriends and I go out to shop for date nights to come and for future nights out on the town. They have helped me through a lot and I could not be any more grateful for them.
I see myself moving up in my job. I am about to get a promotion that will further advance my career. I am the most sought out Forensic analysts there is to hire. I am giving expert testimonies after expert testimonies to help put the right people behind bars while keeping the innocents from wrongful convictions. I repeat to myself everyday, “to protect and to serve, to protect and to serve.”
Ten years is a long ways away. Life is an uncertain journey that everyone takes. Events in everyone’s lives can change their direction in life. Take Sylvester Stallone for example, he use to be homeless with a failing acting career, but, he took a chance and gave a casting company a script he wrote, not knowing the out come. Now he is one of the most famous actors we know today. If you had asked Stallone ten years ago from that fateful day what he would have been doing in ten years his imaginative story would have been completely different.
