Theme songs, the calling card of every professional wrestler. From Macho Man Randy Savage’s “Pomp and Circumstance” to Ric Flair’s “ Also sprach Zarathustra,” theme songs can become just as iconic as the wrestlers who walk out to them. Of course, theme songs can’t just be good songs, they must encapsulate the gimmick and personality of the wrestler. And a bad song can damage the reputation of a wrestler, just as an amazing song can catapult a wrestler’s career. Now, CFO$ has been tasked with producing the theme songs of wrestlers of the New Era. And they’ve done a great job so far, in my opinion. So much so that I listen to plenty theme songs that they’ve made on a regular basis. So, just to show you what I mean, here are (in no particular order) 10 of my favorite theme songs by CFO$.
1. Catch Your Breath (Finn Balor)
Finn Balor's inner beast gimmick is one that isn't easy to pull off in this day and age, where supernatural gimmicks could be seen as comedy. He very much could have seemed like an Irish Boogeyman had it not been for his theme, a song that captures both the intensity and slightly haunting aspects that the Demon King possesses.
2. Glorious Domination (Bobby Roode)
With the debut of Bobby Roode in NXT came of the greatest theme songs to memory. While his cocky attitude isn't exactly a wholly original idea, his amazingly hammy theme has people literally singing his praises.
3. Phenomenal (AJ Styles)
With AJ Style's epic debut at the Royal Rumble came a theme song that, while not fully capturing the atmosphere of the Phenomenal One that the last two songs provided, it still worth a listen. A strange blend of a repeating rap chorus about a Southern Boy, the song has really grown on the WWE crowd after 6 months.
4. Cruise Control (Apollo Crews)
Apollo Crews may be having a hard time trying to connect with the WWE crowd, as his promo skills aren't the greatest, but his explosive wrestling style, accompanied by his fun theme song, gives him a chance to thrive in the mid-card. His theme is so triumphant, a song fit for a montage or a hero's arrival.
5. Hellfire (Sheamus)
Sheamus puts on a vicious, brutal war whenever he is in the ring, and as such, this amazing theme suits him perfectly. If Crew's theme was fit for a hero's arrival, Sheamus's theme could accompany a whole army.
6. Destroyer (Samoa Joe)
Samoa Joe has a vicious mean streak to him, with his uber-physical wrestling style making him seem like a living, breathing monster. His theme, fit for an evil, large man such as himself, is one of the more intense song you may bop your head to.
7. Outcast (Social Outcasts)
Ahhh, everyone's favorite jokes, the Social Outcasts. Poor souls had such an amazing theme before they broke up. The song didn't exactly fit them however, seeming to fit better on a sympathetic underdog. Nonetheless, the song itself was great.
8. Elite (American Alpha)
For the tag team that blends professional and amateur wresting so amazingly into a style that excites both the crowd and the IWC, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan find themselves with a theme fit for Olympians.
9. No Way (No Way Jose)
This shouldn't have worked. Someone who goes by the name "No Way Jose) shouldn't be anywhere near as over with the NXT crowd as this man finds himself. But he and his catchy theme have found their home in NXT, a testament to the level of charisma that this man has.
10. Rising Son (Shinsuke Nakamura)
Now, I said that there is no order to this list, but I intentionally put this song last. If you want my reason, just listen to it, and enjoy.
