Everyone knows how big of a Will Ferrell fan I am and so I thought it only appropriate to count down my top ten favorite Will Ferrell movies of all time along with a favorite line from the movie. Starting with...
10. "Land of the Lost"
One of the most humorous and typical Will Ferrell movie you can find. It follows a out of work scientist as he finds the answers to inter- dimensional travel. He is joined on set by Danny McBride and Anna Friel who are both all-stars when it comes to acting and are great compliments to this movie. Favorite line: "Matt Lauer can suck it"
9. "Get Hard"
This hilarious movie is one of Will Ferrell's newest projects. It features a stock trader who is swindled out of money and his dignity and is set for prison time. He recruits the help of the only guy he knows who can help him (Kevin Hart), who he thinks can help him to survive prison. Favorite Line: "Sad-dogging you, you think that's a strategy that could work? Please don't sexually assault me, I'm already too sad"
8. "Daddy's Home"
This is another newer movie from Ferrell that features a Jazz radio executive who's wife has one crazy ex. The ex is played by Mark Wahlberg who has worked beside Ferrell in many films and other projects. Favorite line: "All the maidens in the land preferred the more average sized step-king’s sword because it knew how to listen".
7. "Semi-Pro"
Another great and pure Ferrell film follows Jackie Moon who owns, coaches, and plays on a semi-pro basketball team in danger of being sold. He recruits a great cast for the film along with Woody Harrelson and Andre Benjamin. Favorite line: "It's just like the Titanic but it's full of bears"
6. "Old School"
This movie follows three guys as they basically try to relive their college lives and do it in great style. It features Will Ferrell, along with Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson who are both phenomenal actors. Favorite line: "If you tell anyone about this I will kill you... Just kidding we will have him home by tonight" and "You're my boy Blue"
5. "Elf"
I wish Christmas was all year round so I could have an excellent excuse to watch this movie. It features Ferrell as a human, raised by elves, in search for his father who is undoubtedly on the naughty list. It features Zoe Deschanel who is phenomenally gorgeous and an amazing actress. It is a great movie to watch with anybody and has some hilarious moments good for all year quoting. Favorite Line: "You're not Santa. You smell like beef and cheese"
4. "Anchorman"
One of the greatest movies of all time in my opinion is Anchorman. It follows... well an anchorman in San Diego as he tries for fame in the news show market. It features Steve Carrell as well as Paul Rudd who are amazing actors and really compliment Ferrell. Favorite Line: "Boy that escalated quickly... I mean it really got out of hand fast" and "If you want to throw down fisticuffs, fine. I've got Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary waiting for ya, right here"
3. "Step Brothers"
If you have not seen this movie you are seriously missing out on a great film. It features the ever present duo of Ferrell and John C. Reilly who really compliment each other on screen and create an amazing dynamic on screen. It is so hard to do a favorite line for this one... but Favorite Line: "I'm not going to call him dad...even if there is a fire" and "You sounded like a combination of Fergie and Jesus"
2. "Talladega Nights"
This is part of any Ferrell lover's or non Ferrell lover's movie collection. He teamed back up with John C. Reilly to create a story centered around NASCAR and makes everyone laugh at least once throughout the movie. The pure ridiculousness of this movie is enough to make anyone happy. Favorite Line: "Dear 6 pound 8 ounce baby Jesus..." and "What does el diablo mean?... I don't know it is some kind of fighting chicken or something"
1. "The Other Guys"
My all time favorite Will Ferrell movie. He teams back up with Wahlberg to create one of the funniest cinematic creations of all time. It follows amateur detectives as they try and take on NYC and the crime within the city. It has so many lines that I cannot help but cry laughing at and have watched it over 20 times.
