Type 1: Goofy

Crazy, Silly, and just pure Goofy. There's never a dull moment around this one, that's for sure. They are the life of any event and rest assured, they'll make sure you know they're there by performing one of their antics.

Type 2: Tarzan

That one friend who will do anything and everything, regardless of how ridiculous it may be. Usually the most loyal one too. Especially when you get the crazy idea to go to Kennywood Fright Night when: 1. You hate Halloween and 2. You hate roller-coasters.

Type 3: Daisy Duck

The fashionista who you always try to revolve your style around. You fail, but they still tell you that you look good, and that's why you're friends with them. One take away, you now successfully know how to pencil in your eyebrows. Consider yourself taught!

Type 4: Jiminy Cricket ("Pinocchio")

This one literally brings out the best in you. They tell it exactly like it is and make sure everything you're doing, is going to successfully take you in the direction you want to be. Thankfully, we usually find a few of these on our journey through college. They keep us on track.

Type 5: Fear ("Inside Out")

This one is literally a must. Someone who is willing to play "devil's advocate" when you just might be getting yourself into something you may not really be ready to handle.

Type 6: Woody ("Toy Story")

This is the most loyal friend you'll ever have. After all, you essentially left them in the dark for a little while and they're still here for you. Keep them forever, they'll save your life one day.

Type 7: Crush ("Finding Nemo")

This is your oldest friend (in years), and normally also gives them the title of being wise, although not always. Know that this one is going to have to leave soon and it'll be the hardest "goodbye" you've had to say to a friend. But we all know too many years of the same things burns someone out really quick, so let them go. They'll never completely be gone from your life. Most importantly, recognize that this one has actually learned from you, while you've been learning from them!

Type 8: Snow White

The most innocent friend you've got. Overall, probably the most important because this one will really listen to your problems, because we all know you have a million. Nothing they can't fix, they've been through a lot to get to where they are now.

Type 9: Jasmine ("Aladdin")

The wild one, who isn't afraid to stray away from the norm. Don't be surprised if this one goes a little overboard and you find yourself rescuing them from a few different places, i.e the Ground Floor of your residence hall at prime police hours. This one is one to watch out for, after all everyone plays "parent" at least once in college, right?

Type 10: Ariel ("The Little Mermaid")

The naive one. They may not listen when you give them advice, but guaranteed you will not have to ever tell them "I told you so." Eventually they will realize they are more than lucky to have met a friend like you.

Clearly, friends come in all types. Take a moment to recognize that your friends are all different and have so much to offer to who you are becoming. Do not be afraid to be proud of the friends you have and always, always, always, hold on tight to them each and every day.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
