It’s that time of year again. Leases are ending, the school year is about to begin and almost everyone has to move...again, whether it’s to an apartment, a house or into a dorm for the first time. Moving can be a stressful, tiring and confusing experience and as someone who just finished moving for the second time in two years, here are ten thoughts I’ve had while moving.
- Where did I get all of this stuff?
- I can't organize any of this.
- Maybe I’ll just live in a sea of boxes for the rest of life.
- I never want to move again!
- Maybe this won't be so bad...
- What have I done?
- I lost all of my socks...
- Why is building furniture and moving it so hard?
- I’ll just order food tonight...and tomorrow...and the next day.
- This is never ending. I need to do something else.
Moving can seem like the end of an era or a brand new start, and while it is completely inconvenient, it can also open up a world of new possibilities. You just have to take a chance and actually try to unpack all of your boxes and not just the ones you deem ‘necessary.’
