There’s nothing quite like a winter storm to welcome you back to the new “spring” semester (and to all of you who attend warm, sunny schools I envy you). Whether you’re a first timer or a long-standing veteran, walking along a snowy campus to reach your 8 a.m. lecture with only five minutes to spare is like its own personal arctic hell. And here are is a list to help put that feeling into perspective.
1. When you wake up to find that it’s snowing.
2. But none of your professors cancel and you still have to go to class anyway.
3. And even with all of your extra layers on, you still feel cold.
4. When you manage through sheer willpower to go through the mountain of snow to make it to your class.
5. Debating whether to go out or stay in and watch movies with hot cocoa.
6. But deciding to go out anyway despite the blizzard warning.
7. Realizing you forgot to stock up on food and your car is trapped under snow.
8. Deciding to play in the snow at 1 in the morning because you're an adult and can still have fun.
9. Until you remember all the homework you procrastinated on.
10. But still decide to enjoy the snow anyway since it only comes a few times a year.
So whether you love the snow or hate it, chances are you'll have to deal with it. Just remember to bring a big coat and hope that your 8 a.m. class gets cancelled.
