Spring break is one of the most exciting times for college students. It's something that people look forward to all year. However, there are things you will go through before you start partying for a week. Here are ten things you will do before you can fully enjoy your vacation.

1. You make a plan

Whether you've decided to go somewhere close or somewhere in another country, you've set the location and where you're staying. It can be a pain to book a place that's affordable and has enough space. When you pull this off, however, you feel nothing but happiness.

2. The countdown begins

You've started a countdown on your phone: it's on your calendar, and everyday you know you're getting closer to the vacation of your dreams. People in your group chat will sometimes text you how many days are away, which never fails to boost your mood.

3. You slowly add to your wardrobe

Every time you see a cute bikini or top, you buy it for your upcoming trip. Your mom will yell at you but spring break clothes is a necessity. Eventually your debit card will stop you from adding any new clothes to your collection.

4. You and your friends list all the things you're going to do

You talk in your group chat and begin a list of all the things you need to do while on spring break. This list will get longer and longer as the days go on. You don't know if you'll do all of it, but you know jet skiing must be done.

5. Eating healthy begins

As the time to leave for your trip gets closer, the realization that your body is not beach ready becomes very apparent. Instead of eating that muffin for breakfast, you start to eat oatmeal instead.

6. Forcing yourself to go to the gym

Going to the gym has never been more important this semester. You start heading there way more than you were going before. It makes you feel better to see all the other people who are trying to burn off all the chicken nuggets they ate this weekend.

7. Getting through midterms

This is the most difficult roadblock in the way of spring break. The only thing that gets you through the all nighters and Quizlets would be the thought of tanning under the Florida sun. It doesn't help seeing your friends already on spring break, but you know it will soon be you having all the fun.

8. Remembering you have to be in a bikini and attempting to get in shape in a week

Okay so maybe you've slacked on your promise to go to the gym a lot more. There's barely any time left until spring break, and you've realized you may be ready, but your body isn't. You will either attempt to perform a last minute miracle, or you'll face defeat.

9. Packing up

Spring break is so close that you can smell the sunscreen and hear the frat boys screaming, "SPRANGG BREAK!" But before you can head to your location, you have to pack up all your stuff. You know that you'll just be in a bathing suit the whole time, but you still pack your whole wardrobe.

10. GETTING IN THE CAR AND HITTING THE ROAD

This is it, the last obstacle before you're fully enjoying spring break. You and all your best friends squeeze into a car and try to embrace the ten hour drive ahead of you. You jam to music, sleep, cry a little because the drive is so long and get hype about finally being on spring break. Ten hours later you get out of the car with cramped legs, a stiff neck and a feeling that this is going to the best week ever.

Now that you've gotten through these ten things, it's time to have an amazing time with your best friends. Make sure that you wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and don't get too crazy. But most importantly, make this spring break the best one yet!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
