Here are 5, of definitely many, things to take into consideration when thinking of buying an Apple Watch.
1. There are Cheaper Options
Personally, the thought of spending ~$400 on one item makes me sweat a bit.
It's important to acknowledge and realize that there are other options for smartwatches that are way less expensive and virtually do the exact same thing - or do even better things!
I bought a Fitbit Versa for $90 and have absolutely loved it! I was able to make the screensaver a picture of my dog and it pretty much does everything the Apple Watch would.
Additionally, like most if not all technological items, they do have a lifespan. This is something to consider before spending so much on it.
2. Like any other Gadget, You'll Probably Lose Interest in The Device
Like any other new gadget or gizmo, you will probably lose interest in it over time. No matter how cool it may seem! This being said you should really consider what functionality an Apple Watch will serve for your life.
Is it worth the investment?
3. Do your Research to See When/Where Deals Are Happening
I always do my research before making any purchase. If you aren't too dedicated or don't have the time, browser add on's like honey or wish are fantastic money savers! These apps automatically search the internet to find you coupons or better deals! Don't pay full price if you don't need to!
4. Sometimes Less is More
Although Apple is a dominant brand, sometimes less is more. It's worth doing the research into different brands because sometimes less is more!
Although the Apple Watch design is iconic, if you're more into circles there are quite a few brands out there that feature circular smartwatches!
The less is more mindset can also be applied to the data status of the smartwatch you purchase. If you really REALLY think about it, it's probably not necessary to buy the smartwatch with the cellular data option. Realistically speaking, how often will you be using your watch without your phone nearby? I never have!
5. Think Long Term
With any (bigger) purchase, it's important to think long term. Think about how much use you'll get out of an Apple watch and if there are better / smarter things you can spend this money on.
If buying an apple watch is going to completely throw your budget out of wack, it may not be worth it!
