Ten Things Every Coffee Lover Knows

Coffee is the key to surviving most days.

Ten Things Every Coffee Lover Knows

Caffeine easily makes up more than half of what I consume on a daily basis, and I am not alone in that trend. There is just something about that first wave of energy that warms my soul. In a fast paced society, we function at a high pace with very low amounts of sleep. Especially for college students that struggle to balance work, classes, and managing to keep up with important relationships, coffee will inevitably become a huge part of the diet of college students. But if you aren't there yet, here are just a few things long term coffee drinkers want you to know.

1. There is a major difference in Starbucks' specialty drinks and real coffee.

Do not be mistaken, there are days where a peppermint white mocha needs to be in my hand at all times. Unfortunately, most specialty drinks contain more sugar than caffeine and can lead to a serious sugar crash. If you want the real stuff, try just black coffee. It works wonders.

2. People will think they know your limits, but they severely underestimate your caffeine tolerance.

How could someone else possibly know what you can handle when you yourself have no idea when too much is too much?

3. When you find that perfect new blend and your whole world is changed.

You know from the first sip that this is going to be your new addiction. Every one should just accept that you're going to be raving about it for the next six months.

4.Even professional coffee drinkers sometimes surpass what we can handle.

Some days there is just no chance of winning. Too little coffee and you can't function, too much and you end up anxious and confused. It is a worlds best game where either way you're dying.

5. There should always be coffee in the coffee pot.

I'm not going to explicitly say that I need fresh coffee in the mornings, but it is definitely a bonus in my books. Even more important, if you drink the last of the pot, make more! Don't be that guy that the office hates because you don't have any common courtesy.

6. Need a date idea?

Coffee is a fail proof date idea. It allows enough time for conversation to get to know someone and break that barrier, but doesn't leave too much time for you to run out of conversation topics. Plus, everyone puts on their best face with caffeine behind them.

7. You can always find love at a coffee shop.

Baristas are smoother than they get credit for. Each day provides a whole new opportunity to make love happen, if not for themselves, so the public. (Have you seen all the coffee prom-posals?) It is a new trend that must continue.

8. Coffee and cars are never a good mix.

Seasoned coffee drinkers are all too familiar with this struggle. Is that cup of coffee worth the risk of spilling it all over your car? The answer is always yes.

9. We all have the same reaction when someone doesn't like coffee.

How are you even a functional member of society? Do you live like a zombie? Do you love yourself?

10. In the end we all share a bond.

While not everyone can share the love of coffee, at least we can all agree it is one of the cornerstones of our society, and likely will continue to be a huge part of our daily lives. Don't be afraid to branch out and explore new roasts, new brands, and especially shop local!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
