"Hi. My name is [insert name here] and I am addicted to reality television."

Big Brother, Bad Girls Club, Survivor, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, Jersey Shore, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Amazing Race, The Real Housewives of (insert location here), Dance Moms, etc....

And these are only a select few of the growing plethora of shows out there you can watch that fit into the genre of reality television. Each of the shows, while often deemed "unintelligent" as a whole, captivate people to watch every single moment lingering to the TV eagerly waiting for that confrontation, that table flip, that drama, and to find out who won the competition.

When do you know that you are addicted to reality television? Here are seven signs that you might be addicted to reality television.

1. Your eyes light up, like a little kid at Christmas, when the premiere episode starts.

2. You then schedule the times into your phone every week for the rest of season, so you know not to have a life on those days.

.

3. You flip out, scream, and then dance around your house when your favorite contestant wins HOH or finds the hidden immunity idol.

4. ...But you also get mad when a character you think you would like messes up and just royally ruins your faith in life. Drag them Tyra Banks.

5. You may have even cast yourself and your friends as Kardashian family members. (I have already been cast as Kylie, but I'm totally Kim.)

(Evidence #1.)

6. You also get extremely excited when you are able to convince your friends to watch the show and get addicted to it as well, so that you can both gossip about who is getting a solo this week on Dance Moms.

7. You live for the drama that is to occur, no matter what form it takes. Shady convos, ripping of weaves, and the throwing of tables actually energizes you and gives you life.

8. You then follow all of your favorite reality people on every form of social media, because you are smart enough to know the camera can't capture EVERY second of their lives and you got to watch that crucial snapchat video.

9. Then you think, "Maybe I should do this?" and then rush to see if you can apply for a chance to win $500,000 or a recording contract.

10. Lastly, your heart automatically feels ripped out and run over by a bus when you realize that you have to wait another three months (or longer) until the next season of your show comes back on.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
