My mom is my best friend. I couldn't do this without her. She is the backbone of my family. She brought my brothers and me into this world knowing that it wouldn't be easy, but she still did it. She has sacrificed so much for the family. She has been through so much and I know her more than a few I love you's. My mom and I tend to argue because I have a short fuse and she just wants the best for me and I don't see that. As I've grown older I've realized how important she is to me. There's ten things that I love most about my mom.

1. She understands me

My mom knows me inside and out. She knows that I hate olives and she purposely doesn't put them in the food. She knows what makes me tick. She knows my favorite soda is Pepsi and that I MUST have my daily iced coffee from Dunkin.

2. She likes the same music as me

My mom can dance. GUUUURRRLLL. She's the reason I'm a party animal. My snapchat story tends to be videos of my mom dancing in the car like a lunatic. My mom can rap to Rapper's Delight by Sugarhill Gang like a champ. Lemme not even get started on how she kills it when we go to formals.

3. She has a bigger mouth than I do

My mom can talk and talk and talk. She's always been a social butterfly. She has always been good at calming people down. She always knows what to say, in any situation.

4. She can cook better than Bobby Flay

My mom's cooking is the staple of my life. It's absolutely amazing. If anyone knows what arroz y gandules are, come over and try my mom's because you'll be mind blown.

5. She is always straight forward

My mom has no hair on her tongue. She will tell you to your face what she likes and doesn't like. My mom has always been the one who just blurt out things and not care what you think.

6. She can hang

My mom can literally hang out and "chill" with anyone. She can keep a party going no matter where or who's there.

7. She is a great listener

For someone who can talk a lot, my mom is always a great listener. She is always willing to help you with anything if you need it.

8. She is a great writer

I owe it to my mom for giving me my writing talents. My mom is a beautiful writer. She speaks from the heart always and everything she writes has meaning.

9. She puts everyone before her

My mom has always and will always put her family before her. She has done so much for this family. She has sacrificed so much to keep everyone happy.

10. She keeps me motivated

Without my mom pushing me to be better I dont know where I would be. She has supported me through everything. Even if sometimes I've messed up. She has never scolded me for doing something a certain way. Even though she might not agree with some of my decisions she's still there. She's let me pave my own path but is there if i trip up.

gossip girl

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
