The way I've always understood having a "person" is that he/she is the first call you make after you've killed someone, so they can help you drag the body across the living room floor, help you hide the body, help you get the blood off of the floor, and then be your alibi.
After finally finding my person, I realized just how important they are and how much they bring to your life.
1. Hanging Out
You can hang out with each other when you are so irritated with everyone around you and don't know how to deal with people anymore. This works because you don't consider your person to be "people."
2. Complaining
You can complain about all of your problems to them because you know they'll listen, and while they might not have the answer, they'll agree that whatever it is sucks.
3. Your Value
Your person reminds you why you are valuable, especially when you don't feel valuable.
4. Laughter
Oftentimes, your person will be the only one who can make you laugh after a particularly difficult day.
5. A Different Version Of Normal
It's perfectly normal to go over to your person's house or dorm room and just take a nap.
6. Secrets
When you tell a normal friend a secret and ask them to keep it between the two of you, there is almost no guarantee they'll keep the secret. With your person, there are no doubts. When my person says "this has to stay between us..." I always think, 'well duh.' This is because every secret we've shared has stayed that way.
7. Speaking Of Sharing...
Your person is someone you can share 100% of your life with. There are almost no lines in regards to what can and can't be shared.
8. Teammates
No matter what, you and your person are always on the same team. It doesn't matter what it's about or what it would require you to do.
9. You Have Your Own Language With Your Person
There are always certain phrases that you can't use around people other than your person, because they won't understand what you mean. Oftentimes, this is a way you've explained a certain, ridiculous way of feeling to your person, but your person gets it.
10. All in all, your person is the best person you'll ever know. They'll tell you the truth (even when it hurts), they'll love every part of you (even the ones you see as broken), and they'll always be there to help you, no matter how far away they are or what time it is
So, thank you to everyone who is someone's person! We can't wait to grow old and be crazy old people together!
