10 Reasons Why I Love Having A Long Distance Best Friend

1. You always have an excuse to travel.

Which results in you both constantly saving for and planning your next visits.

2. Finally getting to see them is like Christmas, your birthday and the Fourth of July all rolled into one.

Seeing the mark on your calendar that tells you you're going to see your best friend is the best feeling in the world. You won't be able to eat or sleep the day before. It's just that exciting.

3. When you're together, you don't need to plan activities.

"Do you wanna go out? Me neither. Let's just stay in and watch 'Friends' re-runs."

4. You get to meet their new friends, and they get to meet yours.

And you get to silently mark your territory as the best friend. Because no one can replace you.

5. They're the only person you know will reply to every text, even if you send 20 in a row.

Keeping them in the loop of the latest drama might result in their phone overheating, but you know they'll never get annoyed and always reply ASAP.

6. They will always be there to give you an unbiased opinion.

Since you both live in different places, they might not know the people you're talking about, which lets them give you the best advice possible.

7. No matter how much time passes between visits, being with them feels like the most natural thing in the world.

It doesn't matter if its been weeks or months, you and your best friend pick up right where you left off.

8. Even if you text all day, you can still have a three-hour phone conversation.

Because sometimes it's just nice to know they're on the other line, even if all you're doing is folding laundry.

9. They will always know you better than you know yourself.

They will always be there to keep you grounded and give you a reality check when needed. You never have to worry about loosing yourself because your best friend will always remind you who you really are.

10. Even though the distance sucks, your friendship is stronger than ever.

Your best friend will always be there for you, no matter what. You know you can always count on her to answer the phone and listen to you complain about your day and she'll always know what to say. All-in-all, your long distance best friend is simply the best.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
