Ten Reasons I Like Your Dog Better Than You

The older I get and the more people I meet, the more I realize that I like dogs better than humans. Yes, I said it... I like your dog better than you and I would rather have a hundred pictures of them on my phone than any with you.

Here's ten reasons why:

1. They do not cause stress, they relieve it.

Sure, dogs sometimes dig holes, have an accident in the house or eat your sour cream off the counter, but they are still cute and you cannot stay mad. They never cause you stress; their presence is simply enough to alleviate any negative feelings you are having.

2. They are always excited to see you, no matter if it has been five minutes or five days.

They do not remember the last time they saw you. They are just happy to see you again. Nothing beats walking in the door and finding a dog, or two, barking and jumping on you out of excitement.

3. They appreciate the little things you do for them.

They are grateful that you took them for a walk, rubbed their back for half an hour or "accidentally" dropped a chip on the floor.

4. You do not have to beg them to cuddle you (only sometimes).

Dogs do not push you off or tell you no, as you pick them up and cuddle them on the couch or bed.

5. They won't judge you as you eat that third piece of pizza.

Because we all know we are sometimes judged by humans for eating that third piece... I appreciate you for not judging me, and for that, I will give you a bite.

6. They don't talk over your favorite song, as they are riding in the passenger seat.

Nothing is more annoying than when your favorite song comes on the radio and your friend or significant other wants to talk over it. Excuse me, "My Humps" by *The Black Eyed Peas* is playing, can you just act like a dog and admire me in silence or look out the window.

7. They do not expect anything in return for the happiness they give you.

Dogs only want your presence.

8. They do not get mad at you for staying in and watching your favorite TV show.

I need more people in my life who understand and accept that I like my bed a little too much and that leaving it is not always an option.

9. They are ADORABLE.

All. The. Time.

10. They love you unconditionally.

No matter what you say or do, dogs will show you true love.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
