Anyone who knows me knows that I love, love, love Alexa Chung. Her style, sense of humor, everything. If she wears it, I'll try to wear it. If she makes it, I'll buy it. (that will be true for her brand next Spring). In the spirit of New York Fashion Week, here are 10 reasons why Chung should be your style and life icon.

1. She is the reason you wear half of what you wear.

Denim and floral tops, check. Cardigans with almost anything, check. Skirts, flats and sweaters with collars. Check. Denim on denim she can do it. Leather jackets and jean jackets she made cool again on her own.

2. She dated Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys.

Iconic enough. One of their biggest albums "A.M" was based on their breakup. Her looks during that relationship were amazing. More rock influenced but with a girly touch. She also sported a lot of band tees...

3. She actually cares and pays attention to what goes on in the world.

Alexa was very active during the UK Referendum (to stay or leave the EU). Her, like many young Brits, wanted Great Britain to stay. She went out voted, joined protests and encouraged others to do the same through social media. She's very open minded and calls for a greater social change. Most celebrities are focused on themselves half the time.

4. Her sense of humor is one of a kind.

Anyone that pays great attention to British culture, like me, knows that their sense of humor can be a bit strange. Her Twitter and Instagram feed are not full of self-promoting, selfies and yacht vacations. But rather of nights out with friends, "ugly" pictures of herself and her posing with funny things she'll find along the way.

5. Her app "Villoid" is fun and addicting!

It is basically like Instagram for fashion lovers. You create your own looks with real pieces from designers. Inspiration can come from anyone or anything. Most of the users use Alexa herself as their inspiration.

6. Her close friends

Her squad includes fellow Brits Nick Grimshaw, Poppy Delevingne (older sister of Cara), Pixie Geldof, Rita Ora, Kelly Osborne, Matty Healy of The 1975, and even Harry Styles. You thought T Swift's squad was stacked.

7. Forget Coachella, this Brit shows that Glastonbury and the UK still reign supreme.

She stuns every year during the festival. Who knew Hunter boots where so chic?

8. She can pull off anything.

Literally anything. And look good while doing it. It takes a lot to pull off Chanel and Gucci but she makes it look easy.

9. Her signature look is the cat eye.

It is iconic. There are tutorials everywhere on how to do your makeup like Alexa. She even made her own eyeliner with Eyeko to get you as close as possible to her look.

10. The IT girl is finally going to be the head of her own brand!

After campaigns, TV shows, walking the catwalk, and writing a book, in Spring of 2017 it will be launching and I predict it will reflect everything that Alexa is.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
