Ten Places to Visit In New York City
Ellie Stamp

New York City is a magical place. There is something unique to see on every corner of the city. There is so much culture and there are endless activities to do while you are there. It is my favorite city to go to on the planet. I have included a list of my favorite places to visit in when I go to New York City.

1. It may be cliche but if you happen to visit New York City I recommend seeing the top of the Empire State Building. Once you reach the top of the building, there is nothing like it. It is a stunning view whether or not you go in the daytime or nighttime.

2. I would suggest that you take a stroll through Central Park. You never know what you will see in the park, and it is beautiful in all four seasons of the year. It is also a wonderful place to have a picnic in the spring or summer.

3. Take a boat ride to Liberty Island to see the statue of liberty. The boat ride itself is incredible because you get to see a magnificent view of New York City. Once you reach the island, you have two options. You can climb the stairs all the way to the crown of Statue of Liberty, or you can observe the surrounding area from the lower deck. Afterwards, you can take a boat ride to visit Ellis Island to continue your tour of New York City.

4. Take a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum houses artwork from over 5000 years ago. There are many beautiful paintings and sculptures to see while you are there. The museum even has artwork from the famous Leonardo da Vinci.

5. If you have the chance get tickets to see a Broadway play! The actors are always outstanding, and there is always an interesting play to see. I saw the play "Of Mice and Men" which starred James Franco, Leighton Meester, and Chris O'Dowd. The play was amazing, and I would recommend that every one gets the chance to see a Broadway play.

6. Take a walk or go on a bike ride alongside the Brooklyn Bridge. The architecture of the bridge is beautiful and one can see the beauty of New York City from the bridge. It is a wonderful place to visit with your family or friends.

7. I would recommend going to the Neue Galerie to see the artwork of Gustav Klimnt. The Galerie obtains my favorite painting titled "The Woman in Gold", by the artist Gustav Klimnt. It is a portrait of a woman named Adele Bloch-Bauer. The painting is breathtaking, and the history behind the painting is incredibly interesting. There was even a movie about the painting that stars Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren.

8. My favorite restaurant to go in New York City is Carmines Family Restaurant. It is an Italian restaurant and the food is absolutely outstanding. The meals are all served in "family style", so the meals can feed an entire table of people.

9. I would suggest going for a dessert at a restaurant called "Holey Cream". It is very unique because it is famous for doughnut sandwiches filled with any ice cream the heart desires. The food is absolutely delicious.

10. Lastly, if you happen to be in New York City during Fleet week, attend the boat tours. The city offers tours of Coast Guard and Navy ships. It is a wonderful way to support the Armed Services and learn about their work.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.
