Hey everyone! I'd assume with the summer coming up, some people are getting kinda tired of their old playlists and are in dire need of some possible new artists to look out for.

So, I'm not totally sure what everyone listens to or has listened to, but here are 10 of my favorite artists from this past year! I hope I can be a help to some of you guys!

1. Post Malone

Ever since his popular song "White Iverson" came out, I've been hooked. I'm not sure if any of y'all are super into rap, but he is also such a sweet, down to earth person, and I love watching his guest appearance videos on Youtube!

2. Billie Eilish

Ok, but can y'all believe she's ONLY 16 YEARS OLD. Truth be told, she's been number one on my playlist lately (her last name is pronounced eye-lish). This gif is actually from a music video of her song "Bellyache," which I have been putting on repeat on my playlist!!

3. Hayley Kiyoko

If you and I are good friends, then you'll know that I do in fact stan miss Hayley Kiyoko. Some of you might know her from the movie Lemonade Mouth as Stella Yamada. She recently released her album Expectations, and if you haven't listened to the songs "What I Need (feat. Kehlani)," "Palm Dreams," and "Let It Be," YOU NEED TO RIGHT NOW.

4. The Weeknd

Ugh, The Weeknd is amazing, and his new EP Album Melancholia was such a bop, although it did make me very sad, but I've been really feeling sad music lately? My favorite album of his has to be Trilogy, and songs like "High For This," "The Zone," and "The Morning" are some of my favorites off of the album.

5. Drake

I absolutely LOVE DRAKE, and I have ever since he played Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi. I've been listening to him ever since his popular mixtape So Far Gone in 2008. I just feel like I love the songs that he puts out for people, and the albums, too. Also, this is a quality gif.

6. Tame Impala

If you haven't heard of Tame Impala, please give the song "The Less I Know The Better" a listen. Tame Impala is known as being a psychedelic rock band, although when recording songs, only singer Kevin Parker is credited to make the songs...I totally recommend the album Currents, where that song and songs "Let It Happen," and "Eventually" are also some of my favorites!

7. Kali Uchis

Ugh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE her (her last name is pronounced Ooh-cheese). She just released her album Isolation, and her single from the song "After The Storm," which features artists Tyler, The Creator, and Bootsy Collins. Her album Por Vida is also really great, and I love the songs "Speed," "Loner," "Call Me," and "Sycamore Tree."

8. Tyler, The Creator

With Tyler, it's either you love him or you hate him because of his distinct music styles and personality. His music style also varies from more hardcore lyrics and songs such as "Yonkers" and "She (feat. Frank Ocean)" from his album Goblin, to more softer, lighter lyrics and songs such as "Glitter," and "Boredom (Feat. Rex Orange County and Anna Of The North)" from his album Flower Boy. All in all, I've loved him through all of it.

9. The Internet

I got really into this band when two of my friends told me about them, and I've been hooked ever since. This band is led by the girl in the front named Syd, who was also in the band Odd Future with Tyler, The Creator. Their album Ego Death is phenomenal, with songs such as "Gabby (feat. Janelle Monae)," "Under Control," "Special Affair," and "Palace/Curse (feat. Tyler, The Creator)." Syd has come out in other songs, and her voice is just sweet and rich like honey.

10. Kendrick Lamar

Ok, truth be told, I'm still upset that Kendrick's album DAMN. didn't win Album Of The Year at the Grammys (no offense Bruno Mars, I still love you). But wow, so much raw talent and lyrics with different meanings that can sometimes go unnoticed by those who merely listen to the music for the tune and lyrics (like me). Songs like "PRIDE," "LOYALTY FEAT. RIHANNA," and "XXX FEAT. U2" were some of my favorites off of the album, also I love his songs "Swimming Pools (Drank)," and "Money Trees!"

I apologize if a lot of you already know some of these artists, but I hope that I'm able to give some of y'all some insight into new music! Also, pls share new music with me, I'm always looking to listen to new music!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
