You weren't so sure at first. Maybe you thought they were joking around. But then, you asked it, "Does my friend really think they're a cat?" Sounds strange, right? Well to some people, including many others and myself, it's not such a foreign question to ask. I have a friend who thinks she a cat. And even saying, "She thinks she's a cat," is probably an insult to her feline life style. But if you're stilling unsure and can't quite tell if your friend thinks they're a cat too, here are some telltale signs.

They most likely have at least one cat in their home.

Even if they don't have more than one cat, you might think they're bound to be the crazy cat person in the neighborhood or something. And you picture them taking in stray cats and snuggling with them all.

And they love their cat like they love no other.

Their cat is like an extension of their person and soul. They love their cats and if you love their cat too, their heart becomes happy instantly.

Chances are they aren't a dog-person.

And maybe they don't mind dogs, but when it comes to one or the other, its cats by far and without any hesitation. Cats are number one in their books.

They say "meow" more often than a human should.

It almost becomes a language. It's one word, but each meow can mean something totally different. You just need to listen closely to figure it all out. And getting frustrated with the meows, only leads to more meows, so it's just best to try and figure it out.

They've hissed at you once or twice.

At first you were really confused thinking, "Did I just hear what I think I heard?" and then after that it becomes kind of normal, but still as off putting. Advice? Remain calm and maybe change the conversation.

Let's not forget the purring.

Also making you very uncomfortable. They might purr and it almost sounds like a rolling of the "R." You catch yourself just staring, hoping that maybe it might stop.

They refuse to admit they're human.

No matter how many times you tell them, they will forever and always think they're sincerely and to the core a part of the feline family. And if you tell them otherwise, you may get scratched.

So if all this and maybe more is reminding you a certain friend, you may have a friend you sincerely thinks they're a cat. And it's not necessarily a bad thing, (unless in public) but instead adds more character and makes that friend even more unique than anyone else. So here's to all the cat lovers and humans who are convinced they're a cat. We don't really understand you, but we love you even still.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
